Sino-SingaporeGuangzhou Knowledge City InvEStment
and Development Co.， Ltd ("GKC Co.") toimplement a safe city project in
the Luogang District of the GuangzhouMunicipality in China.
The vision of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City ("GKC Project")， isto develop a unIQue，
vibrant and sustainable city to attract talent andknowledge-based
industries. It is positioned as a model and catalyst for theeconomic upgrading and environmental enhancement of Guangdong. Six pillarindustries have been identified for development， namely: NEXt
GenerationInformation & Communication Technology， Biotechnology and
Pharmaceuticals，Clean Technology， Next Generation Materials， Culture
& Creative Industries，and SCience & Education services.
The signing ceremony on 5th June was witnessed by a senior delegation
fromSingapore including Minister for Transport， Second Minister for
Foreign Affairsand co-Chairman of the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration
Council Mr Lui TuckYew; Minister of State for Trade and Industry and
National Development Mr Lee YiShyan and Singbridge International
Singapore Pte Ltd Chairman and SpecialAdvisor for Economic Cooperation
to the Prime Minister Mr Wong Kan Seng; Leadingthe delegation from
China was Member of Political Bureau of the Communist Partyof China
(CPC)'s Central Committee and Party Secretary of the CPC
GuangdongCommittee Mr Wang Yang; Ambassador， Embassy of The People's
Republic of China inThe Republic of Singapore Mr Wei Wei; and Standing
Committee Member &Secretary-General of the CPC Guangdong Provincial
Committee Mr Lin Musheng，amonGSt other dignitaries.
