Beijing University of Chemical Technology (hereinafter BUCT) is a state key university directly under the Ministry of Education and a key university of the national "211” Project, whereby China plans to build about 100 key universities and colleges in the 21st century. It consists of 12 colleges (the College of Materials Science and Engineering, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the College of Information Science and Technology, the College of Science, the College of Life Science and Technology, the College of Humanities and Law, the College of Economic Management, the College of Chemical Engineering & Technology, the College of Further Education, and the College of Vocational Education,and the College of Marxism,and the College of International Education), offering 24 doctoral specialties, 50 masters programs and 44 bachelors programs.
