Capital Medical University （CMU） was founded in 1960. It ranks among the top academic medical institutes in China. It is one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. CMU consists of 10 Schools, 18 affiliated hospitals, over 16,000 beds in total, and 1 teaching institute. The university and the affiliated hospitals have about 31,000 staff members. Among them, there are 1,654 professors and 3,051 associate professors including 5 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In October 2011, the university has 9,509 enrolled students including 343 international Degree-Seeking students from over 30 countries.
